Enter In Brigitte

Yesterday, The Blizzard team gave us the 27th hero, Brigitte, the daughter of Torbjorn. As I suspected, she is the answer to the Dive composition. Her Kit is perfect for the Death Ball.

  • Rocket Flail hits multiple enemies at once dealing damage all the while healing herself.
  • Repair Pack heals heroes up to 150 health or giving them armor of 75 if they all ready had full health.
  • Whip Shot does 70 damage and booping the enemy back a considerable distant.
  • Shield Bash stuns the enemies who get too close.
  • Barrier Shield up to 600 life.
  • Rally is her ultimate that provides armor to her allies that last even after her ultimate is done.
  • Inspire heals her allies who are near when she does damage.

As you can see, Brigitte is the perfect answer to the Dive comp that has ruled for a very long time. I’ve had a chance to play the support/tank hero yesterday on the PTR.

She is a lot of fun to play. Fights last longer because of her armor and healing ability in the Death Ball. Compositions do move much slower, but I’m okay with that. What I did find awkward was how to build around her properly. It really was depended upon how she was played. If the person wanted her to be more tanky and less support, we needed an additional healing hero, totaling 3 support heroes. Some comps were didn’t even bother doing two healers, which Brigitte can’t solo heal, period.

When I was playing her, a Genji jumped in the back lines and tried to take me out. A Shield Bash quickly showed him I am to be respected. Another time, a Winston tried to take me out, but I Whip Shot’d him away and was safe. All and all, Brigitte can withstand the Dive. I think she will help bring back diversity to the meta. I’m super excited to see how this plays out.

Let me know what you think of Brigitte.
